The Yukon’s Health Insurance Card

In order to get your Yukon Health Insurance Card, you need to send a request to be covered by the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan. The office administering the program is located at 204, Lambert St., in Whitehorse. A contact person will provide you with information about the Organ Donor Program in order to have it identified on your Health Insurance Card. Yukon Health Care Coverage for students

Advance directives

In order to know what your preferences are in terms of care in case of an accident or disease and to designate a person who will represent you in case of incapacity, there are emergency medical information kits that can help you plan your care and expectations. The bilingual kit is recognized by the Yukon health authorities. It is available free of charge at the PCS Health Resource Centre and at the “centre de l’Âge d’or”. To review the advance directives preparation document in French. A bilingual form on the Yukon Organ Donor Program is appended to the kit. Yukon Service locations

Whitehorse General Hospital

Services in French are available at the Whitehorse General Hospital from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. The office of the coordinator of French language services is located at the hospital admission desk where you can go and ask for service in French. Bilingual medical personnel can sometimes be referred to you on site. Interpretation services are offered in total privacy. If you are planning on using the public transit, please consult the City of Whitehorse bus or Handi-bus service schedule (English only). Whitehorse Health Centre

The Whitehorse Health Centre is located at 9010, Quartz Rd, in the Marwell industrial park. A bilingual nurse can answer your questions and guide you in your research. Services offered: immunization clinics (children and adults), prenatal classes, traveler’s clinic, breastfeeding support, Yukon children’s dental clinic and the “Familles en santé/ Healthy Families” Program.
